Environmental Safety Securing
 Environmental issues are of paramount importance for the whole humanity in recent years. Knowledge is spread more active in this field. Public control becomes stricter. Successful business is not only production, costs, marketing etc. but also sustainability. It includes both present sustainability and future one. It is necessary to focus both on environment and public relation for this purpose. Only general positive balance in these issues will give successful result for production activity development of OJSC “ArcelorMittal Kryviy Rih”.
Environmental safety securing of OJSC “ArcelorMittal Kryviy Rih” production activity which includes ore mining and processing, coke, pig iron, steel and rolled metal production is a priority in general strategy of the society.
Certified environmental management system is functioning at all subdivisions of the enterprise according to requirements of ISO 14001:2004.
The Environmental Policy of OJSC "ArcelorMittal Kryviy Rih" has been implemented with the Corporate Environmental Policy of ArcelorMittal.
Investments in Environment
The following factors are decisive in development pressure reduction on environment: decommissioning of outdated technologies and environmentally hazardous productions; commissioning of new production facilities with complex environmental actions; reconstruction and technical re-equipment of existing capital assets of the enterprise; implementation of advanced modern environmentally benign technologies that requires significant capital expenses.
Big work has been done in 2009 on construction, reconstruction and capital repair of capital assets intended for nature protection purposes at structural subdivisions of the enterprise:
